My girlfriend and I are thinking of renting a movie tonight but we need some good ideas. It has to be a comedy movie, and I would prefer if the movie had been released sometime in the past 10 years.

    Hmm. I really like Superbad.
And My Best Friend’s Girl. I don’t know if that’s on DVD yet, though.

Borat for sure. If you’ve already seen it then I’d say The Ten. It was released last year I think, and it was really funny. Not a typical comedy that everyone would like, but I definitely recommend it.

Tropic Thunder- I believe it just came out on DVD. I was honestly shocked at how good it was. Robert Downy Jr and Tom Cruise steal the show.

Superbad- Gotta love Michael Cera. Really well written and very funny.

Wedding Crashers- Nice romantic comedy, unique in the genre because it’s actually funny

I was going to suggest “Fever Pitch” which is a nice light romantic comedy. But looking at your other questions, I see you’re a Yankees fan, so maybe not a good suggestion after all…..

Big’ (1988)…This film about a boy who makes a wish and wakes up as an adult is definitely a comedic classic. In this memorable scene, Josh (Tom Hanks) and MacMillan (Robert Loggia) play Chopsticks and Heart and Soul on the giant foot-operated piano at FAO Schwartz.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’ (1994) ..Jim Carrey as a character with an exaggerated personality? His wacky portrayal as pet detective Ace Ventura was definitely a hint as to what was in store for this jokester

Naked Gun’ (series) he Zucker brothers, staying true to the “take-nothing-seriously” formula that gained them and Jim Abrahams notoriety through films like “Top Secret!” and “Airplane!”, took irreverence to new heights in “The ***** Gun.” The film also completely turned Leslie Nielsen from a serious actor to one of cinema’s more recognizable goofs.
